La Caballeriza is a place with soul, and its story is deeply connected to that of our family.
For decades, this property was the backdrop of our daily life: we grew up surrounded by trees, horses, warm summer evenings, and long afternoons sharing mate. The old stable —now transformed into the guesthouse— was always a symbol of togetherness, work, and rural living.
The idea of renovating it emerged during a time of profound change for our family.
When my father fell ill and entered home care, my parents were no longer able to enjoy the garden and the pool the way they once had. What had always been a joyful, vibrant space slowly began to fade.
Living in Germany, I felt a strong need to revive this place, both to support my family and to preserve the essence of our home.
That is how La Caballeriza began.
Together with an architect friend, we transformed the old stable into a warm, inviting retreat. Every detail —from the woodwork to the garden corners and the overall design— was carefully chosen to preserve the rural spirit and the deep sense of peace this place has always offered. Our goal was to create a space where guests could slow down, reconnect with nature, and feel truly comfortable.
I manage La Caballeriza from abroad and travel to Mercedes two or three times a year to continue improving the space and spend time with my parents.
The income from rentals helps us fund my father’s care, allowing him to remain in the place he loves most, while also maintaining the garden, pool, and park in beautiful condition.
My parents live in the main house right next door, on the same property.
However, the guest area is fully separated and private, ensuring independence, peace, and comfort for all visitors.
For us, La Caballeriza is more than an accommodation. It is a family legacy, a heartfelt project, and a way to share the serenity and beauty of this beloved place with people from all over the world. Welcome.
